Aksi Oğlan means "Grumpy Boy" and that pretty much sums up the contrarian nature of this dog. Housed together with his adoptive mother (Kurt Kız) and siblings (Arap, Cadı & Tiger) in the second pen, he enjoys an expansive, tree-covered enclosure with lots of places to hide. The spacious pens at the sanctuary are for dogs who are not comfortable with people, or were sent to us by the university because of behavior problems. Aksi cannot hide his curiosity when newcomers approach the fence, where he likes to show that he is a tough guy. At this point, he welcomes only the company of Defne & Ahmet and does not have a lot of experience with humans. To work with these dogs, volunteers have to be experienced animal behaviorists with patience and understanding of complicated canines. Aksi Oğlan is an excellent candidate for a long-distance foster family who wants to help, but is unable to visit the sanctuary in person and is not looking for a socialized dog.
